Support for Children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND)

We provide a number of services that support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Here at The Red Oak Family Centre we support families with childen 0-11 years old with SEND, attending or not attending education.  We help families get the support they need; bring professionals to them and help tailor support and advice around individual family circumstances.

Every Tuesday we run a play session called A Space To Come – a friendly, informal space for parents/carers to come along for a chat and support while your child plays.

We also have professionals visit the group from various Surrey services, such as the Early Support Team, Home-Start East Surrey, dental nurses, Surrey SEND and early help and many more; giving you the opportunity to meet them and hear about their services.  It gives you the chance to speak to them face-to-face and get to know what their service is about and how they can help you and your family.

Whilst our play session runs and your child plays, we also offer parents the chance to join our parent support programme.

This runs every term, 9.30am-11.00am.  It is for families with concerns about their child’s development, any SEND concerns, or if parents need any help with their EHCP applications, referrals and much more.  We offer parents this weekly support for approx 6 – 10 weeks to get targeted support for your child and help access services available for you.

Parents with children of school age or who are in a pre-school/nursery setting, can still attend with or without their child!  Come along and have a chat!
